The glass construction shown in this building are from the work done by Oakstone Glass Corporation. Completed over the last year they represent the methods used in the bronze and glass curtain wall systems. The mullions which are glass and metal run the full height of the structure. The colored plate glass spans between the mullions, and 1/16" thick stainless steal metal spandrel panels are used at each floor slab. The result is a very uniform color among the exterior materials. The composite is very uniform that takes into consideration of the edging and circumference of the mandrels.
These details demonstrate the approach used by Oakstone Glass Corporation to construct a stainless steal curtain wall in a very visible area with no worry of effecting the look of the historically know building. Today’s standards would require a higher level of moisture and thermal control but the consideration of Oakstone Glass Corporation was taken into the design and concept to make this issue non problematic. . Modern construction methods and materials have certainly improved these issues of the moisture and thermal control of the exterior skin.
